Turning Around A Low Performing Landing Page
Posted by | Posted in Marketing and Advertising | Posted on 22-08-2011
True, landing pages can be pretty simple and easy to make, but you cannot get away with not having a clue about it. Hardly anyone makes a terrific page right away, and the sky-high conversions you hear about are the result of testing, tracking and optimizing. A tutorial is what we have for you, today, and it can change your fortunes if you do something with it.
Its a good idea to start with something simple like the headline.
Actually, your page headline has an awesome job to get done, and with no success there the whole thing falls apart. There is the first make or break point at the headline, and you know exactly what that is – to be read, or not to be read. So when you’re creating your headline, don’t be afraid to try out a few until you find the best one. Any person who reads it should know what the landing page is about and what the major benefit will be. So then we come to the matter of what you think your best benefit is, or perhaps the USP which is unique selling proposition. In addition, the headline lets people know what the copy is all about, and that serves to weed out anyone not interested or not targeted properly. One of the very best investments of your time would be developing headline writing skills, but it does take some learning and doing but well worth it. Remember that the landing page is devoted to what the reader gets. Just like with any sales copy, aside from the bit about the product creator all sales copy is geared toward the benefits to the market audience. Consumers are single-minded in that they are only concerned about what you have to give to them, today. The only way you can really nail your copy and find the best benefits is to have complete knowledge of what ever you are marketing. People can be a little forgiving of other things if your copy is good, and they understand what the offer is and are genuinely interested. It can be easy to lose focus of writing for your audience because you are trying to get everything right, but that is something you cannot let happen. When every reader can easily follow your copy and understand well, then that will help, immensely.
